July 10

On the way up Pleasant Mountain again, practice, practice, practice. There is a lilac bandana tied to my hair. I bought it thinking my husband would not steal a lilac bandana. Even the deer flies don't like this bandana, and bother me less with it tied to my head.
Just like the guard rabbits we have on the pillars at the lake house. "Paint them pink," I told my husband. "Nobody will steal pink rabbits." Just like them, this lilac bandana chases flies away.
There are rabbit ears on this shadow person. Maybe the deer flies are going after the rabbit shadow instead of me. I wish the shadow ears were one of those beanie hats with the helicopter spinner that would lift me up this mountain.
