Ash Wednesday

Put away the fish beads, the donuts, the booze.  Blow out the candles, use the ash from their wicks to dot the forehead, and meditate on the third eye, more difficult to focus on, of course, due to the overindulgence of the night before.
But this calls for practice, not sacrifice;
surrender, not deprivation;
Spring, not new snow.

  1. Does one focus on the third eye or does one focus the third eye? A good way to induce an out of body experience is to lie face down in the collapsing snow of a tree well wallow and hear the chortle of one's supposed friends gradually fade to silence, only to be replaced by the alarming slow-down of one's briskly beating heart...
