Ah, the stupid things we do...
Thinking the ground is frozen because it's snowing outside, I get stuck in the mud and snow at 3:30 AM after Daisy hits the bumper trying to get out the door. Jim once asked, years ago, "Is that the dumbest thing I've ever done?" And I answered, "Not yet." Paybacks. 
More snow, rain expected later, a blank page for a new book awaits, no time like the present.
Sigh. At least you didn't get stuck in the Alaska tundra in a foot of mud and muck sitting on a bed of permafrost with your wife and son in the van on an arctic "joy ride", then have to walk unarmed 5 miles to the nearest pipeline check station and have your child eat all the nice pipeline man's chicken noodle soup while waiting for the nearest tow truck 90 miles away in Fairbanks all in the days before cell phones and towing insurance.
