Four Four

Yesterday's Google logo celebrated the Ice Cream Sundae. Jim claims that his home town is the birthplace of the sundae and where the phrase "Oops-a-Daisy" also originated, where the average summer temperature is 71 degrees. Or something like that. It's a place where you can order the bacon lover's special at the M & M restaurant and get 1 pound of bacon with a side of bacon. M & M used to stand for Morbidity and Mortality in medicine training.

Today is Betty's birthday. She was a secretary and office assistant at my old practice. One year I gave her two tickets to a Yanni concert in Portland. She loved Yanni. I wonder if she ever went. Yanni. Who names their son Yanni?

Which makes me think of a question from yesterday's novel writing, "Who names their daughter Sonny?"

  1. -Who names their son Yanni? Who would think to lop off Uranus' privates? The degenerate Greeks, that's who!
-Yanni is a familiar form of Giannis, a variant of John.
-Who would name a daughter Sonny? A mother, usually Greek, who can't spell Sunny.
-Manitowoc County, wherein lies Two Rivers, is an Ojibwa word meaning "place of the good spirit". Is this the source of the water in Leinenkugel?
