Six more days to Christmas

It's not clear whether the dragon tree will suffice for a Christmas tree. It looks so...unfinished. Maybe that's because, boo hoo, there's only one nicely wrapped present. The rest are clad in brown paper, mailed from distant lands, shaken not stirred.

Which reminds me of the single remaining cut glass martini glass from medical practice days. A search reveals no glass, no vodka, no olives, and no gin. The shaker is waiting.

  1. Did you know...
-Gin was used as an ineffective remedy for bubonic plague (I personally prefer the plague)
-Gin was adulterated with turpentine and sulfuric acid (I personally prefer unadulterated turpentine and sulfuric acid)
-During the English Gin Craze, grains unsuitable for beer brewing were used for Gin making
-Gin was credited with stabilizing London's population by increasing the death rate
    -Gin-joint, gin-soaked, gin mill...all negative phrases
-A cookie dipped in gin is vile vomit...a cookie dipped in Scotch is ambrosia
-My conclusion...gin is the elixir of the pathologically masochistic ascetic
